Massachusetts With Two Players Named On All-Atlantic 10 Preseason Team

AMHERST, MASS. - The University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse program saw two players named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference team; the organization announced Thursday. Senior Jordan Dean and Junior Kassidy Morriss each earned selection after stellar 2024 campaigns in the maroon and white. In the A-10 Preseason Poll, the Minutewomen earned 112 points and three first place votes with Richmond, picked atop the league, with 118 points and eight first place votes.
Dean comes off a 2024 season which saw her set the NCAA Division I single season record for draw controls, breaking the previous mark of 221 while finishing the season with 261. The junior was named to the Atlantic 10 First-Team All-Conference squad after finishing with double-digit draw controls in 15-of-18 games, including a career-high 20 against VCU to go along with four performances with 19. The defender also set a new UMass single season record and ended her junior campaign with 445 draw controls for her career, trailing Hannah Murphy's (2014-17) 522 for the program's all-time record.
Morris enters 2025 after scoring a team-leading 63 goals and adding 16 assists to rank second on the team in points with 79 last season. The Washago, Ontario native posted hat tricks in 14 games and posted seven goals in back-to-back wins over VCU and UConn. The attacker finished with four goals and three assists for seven points in a league win over La Salle and recorded 30 goals over the final seven games of the regular season. Her 63 goals ranked 21st nationally while her 3.50 goals per game was among the top-25 in the country.
