Massachusetts Women’s Track and Field Has Big Weekend Competing in Harvard Invitational and John Thomas Terrier Classic

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team returned to the track on Friday competing in the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday in Boston, wrapping up the weekend in Cambridge for the Harvard Invitational on Saturday.

Massachusetts returns to action next weekend to compete in the Harvard Elite Meet and Harvard Open at the Gordon Indoor Track, and the Scarlet and White Meet at the Track & Tennis Center on Feb. 7-8.
Highlights from Competition:
John Thomas Terrier Classic
- The trio of Megan Frazee, Chloe Taylor and Maia Perillo each earned top 5 finishes in the women's pole vault, with all three clearing 11'11.75", respectively.
- Jennifer Williams finished sixth in the women's 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.97. Katelyn Gorgenyi crossed the line shortly after, securing seventh place with an overall time of 9.01.
- Agnes Thundal (12th) and Anna Shaw (29th) competed in the women's 1000m run for the first time in their collegiate careers, snagging top 30 placements by recording times of 2:51.89 and 2:57.71, respectively.
- Rylee Shunney (4:54.29), Alex Constantino (4:55.14), Klara Hansen (5:03.90), Ella Bosselman (5:04.24), Leann Lombardi (5:07.13) and Kaylie Dalgar each posted personal best times in the women's mile run.
Harvard Invitational
- Gabrielle Bilong placed fifth in the women's long jump with a leap of 16'5.25", with Ashely Camillo snagging seventh place with a distance of 16'3".
- Natalie Krysta surpassed the 50-foot mark in the women's weight throw for the first time in her collegiate career, placing fifth overall in the open throw with a toss of 50'6.75".
- Tesaira Williams and Courtney Rowland each claimed gold in women's high jumps, with Williams claiming the women's high jump opens clearing 5'4.5", and Rowland winning the championship division with a jump of 5.5.75".
- Shakira Cadet finished runner-up in the women's triple jump with a total distance of 38'4". Winnie Sekyaya also placed in the top 10, claiming eighth overall with a jump of 35'8.75".
- Jennifer Williams (2nd), Katelyn Gorgenyi (3rd), Tesaira Williams (6th) and Alexandria Scott (7th) all placed in the women's 60m hurdles with times of 8.90, 9.01, 9.22 and 9.41, respectively.
- Ainsley Wiesner claimed bronze in the women's weight throw championship round with a toss of 58'3.75". Jaliyah Burns (5th) also placed in the top five with a throw of 54'0.25".
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi earned a podium finish in the women's 500m run, finishing third overall with a time of 1:18.43. Naomi D'Souza finished shortly behind, running in 1:19.41 to secure fourth place.
- India Ingemi (5th), Jana De Raedt (6th) and Alysia Spencer (8th) all secured top 10 finishes in the women's 200m dash, finishing in 25.61, 25.68 and 26.15, respectively.
- Grace Hanafin (5th), Ruth Michel (8th), Jordan Lafave (9th) and Bridget Lee (10th) each finished in the top 10 of the women's long jump championship, with leaps of 18'0.25", 17'6.25", 17'6" and 17'2", respectively. Winnie Sekyaya was not far behind with a jump of 16'1.75", good enough for 12th place.
- Alexandria Scott, Jana De Raedt, Diamani Canuto and Naomi D'Souza combined to run a 4:04.34 in the women's 4x400m, finishing third overall.
- Natalie Krysta (5th) and Mattie Bishop (6th) finished back-to-back in the women's shot put with throws of 42'2.75" and 41'3.75", respectively.
