AMHERST -- Massachusetts men's soccer (6-4-6) battled to a draw against St. Thomas (7-4-4) on Saturday.

Sophomore keeper, Dean Linden made a career high 12 saves over the afternoon.
 
BREAKING DOWN THE ACTION
  • The Minutemen saw their first opportunity when Matt Fordham fired a shot on goal in the fifth minute.
  • In the 13th minute, Kwame Adu-Gyamfi's attempt on goal was blocked.
  • Massachusetts defense kept the Tommies without an attempt until the 26th minute when a shot on target by Mathis Guoffry was saved by Linden.
  • Linden's defensive efforts continued when Guffory's back-to-back attempts were denied in the 31st minute.
  • Off a throw in, Shane Velez looked to break the stalemate but was unable to find the back of the net.
  • Velez's final offensive attempt of the half was blocked keeping the score at 0-0.
  • St. Thomas opened the second half with a shot by Chance Therrien that was saved by Linden.
  • After earning a corner, Aidan Kelly's header attempt was turned aside at the goal line by keeper Cameron Olszewski.

  • Miles Akhigbe drilled a shot from the midfield, but a leaping save by Linden kept the score even.
  • Magnus Halldorsson had a chance that was denied in the 69th minute
  • Two quick attempts from the Tommies looked to open the scoring, but did not convert.
