AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts (6-5-6) dropped a close 3-2 matchup against Kansas City (10-2-4) to close out the 2025 regular season on Saturday.
 
J.P. Mbuthia's third brace of the year put the Minutemen on the board with Matt Cence tabbing the assists for both goals.

 
BREAKING DOWN THE ACTION
  • The Roos had their first look of the night with an attempt by Miguel Fernandez going high
  • Cence's attempt in the sixth minute found the hands of the keeper Marc Popow, on the bottom left side
  • Mbuthia, assisted by Cence, netted one for the Minutemen in the 17th minute for an early 1-0 advantage.
  • In the 25th minute, Mbuthia, assisted by Cence again, scored his second of the night for a 2-0 lead.
