Massachusetts Women's Track & Field Complete Flagship Spring Opener

AMHERST, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team hosted their first home meet of the season on Sunday. The Minutewomen won six events on the day including both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Highlights from competition:

- The 4x100m team consisting of Sadai Headley-Mawasi, Grace Hanafin, Jennifer Williams and Ali Murphy took first in the event with a time of 48.14.Â
- Freshman Rylee Davis was the top Minutewomen in the 3000m steeplechase, claiming second with a time of 11:47.43.
- Alex Costantino had a podium finish in the 1500m with a time of 4:38.9. Right behind Costantino was Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio in fourth while Rylee Shunney placed eighth.
- Sarah Witt was the solo Minutewomen in the 400m and placed seventh with a time of 59.76.
- Jennifer Williams took seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.49.
- Elize O'Leary won the 800m with a time of 2:13.36 while teammate Alex Costantino finished seventh with a time of 2:17.64.
- Headley-Mawasi was the top Minutewoman in the 200m, claiming sixth with a personal best time of 24.80.
- Five Minutewomen finished in the top-eight in the long jump. Tiarra Deveaux claimed second with a personal best jump of 18' 6.75". Behind her was Jordan Lafave in fourth, Winnie Sekyaya in fifth, Grace Hanafin in sixth, and Bridget Lee in seventh.
- The jump squad continued their success as Deveaux won the triple jump with a mark of 38' 7.75". Sekyaya Gabrielle Bilong and Ruth Michel all finished within the top-eight, coming in fourth, fifth and eighth respectively.
- Courtney Rowland won the high jump with a mark of 5' 4.5". Madelyn Krohto finished behind Rowland in fourth with a jump of 5' 2.5".
- Megan Frazee claimed first in the pole vault after clearing 12' 1.25".
- Natalie Krysta had a throw of 127' 9" in the discus to take fifth.Â
- Madelyn Bishop and Tess Rancourt had top-eight finishes in the shot put, placing fifth and eighth respectively.
- The Minutewomen ended the day with a win in the 4x400m as Witt, Headley-Mawasi, Hanafin, and Murphy finished in a time of 3:53.66.
The Minutewomen have a quick turnaround as they host the UMass Multi-Meet on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11.
