AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer travels to Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, October 20, to take on Atlantic 10 rival Loyola Chicago at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
UMass currently sits at 9-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the A-10 Conference, after falling to Dayton, 3-2, last Sunday.
After the Flyers led 1-0, graduate student forward Karina Groff shot a one-timer on a pass from senior midfielder Emma Pedolzky to knot it up at 1-1. Dayton scored two more to reclaim the lead, but graduate student midfielder Ella Curry was awarded a penalty kick at the 80:33 mark, capitalizing on the opportunity cut UMass' deficit to one, but were unable to tie it up.
Redshirt senior Bella Mendoza stopped four of seven shots faced and allowed three goals on the day.
Record Book Tracking
Mendoza placed her name on the program's career saves list, ranking seventh after collecting her 255th save against Dayton, surpassing Kelly Nigh's (2000-03) 249 career saves.
Mendoza earned her sixth shutout of the year against in the 1-0 win at St. Bonaventure, etching her name in the career records for the program. The San Ramon, California, native, is now tied for fourth with former Minutewoman Kristin Walker (2004-07) with 21 career shutouts, which includes Mendoza's eight combined shutouts.
Additionally, Curry put her name on the career games played list, tying for second with 85 games played. She is also seventh with 78 games started.
A-10 Standings
The Minutewomen are currently tied for fourth in the A-10 standings with their 4-2-1 record, collecting 13 points in the conference, alongside Loyola Chicago (3-0-4)
Dayton (6-1-0) sits atop the leaderboard with 18 points, while Saint Louis (5-0-2) is second with 17 points. Fordham (4-2-2) is third with 14 conference points.
Statistically Speaking
UMass is fifth in points in the A-10 with 77, while ranking fifth in goals (28) and tied for sixth in assists (21). Massachusetts is tied for third in shutouts with six on the season.

Scouting Loyola Chicago
The Minutewomen and Ramblers are tied in the all-time series, 1-1-0. UMass and Loyola Chicago first met on October 20, 2022, in the road, as Loyola Chicago picked up the 2-1 win. The two programs met last season at Rudd Field, as Massachusetts defeated Loyola Chicago, 4-1, on October 1.
Loyola Chicago holds an overall record of 8-2-5, with a league record of 3-0-4, earning wins over Dayton (1-0), Richmond (1-0), and Davidson (1-0). The Ramblers have tied Fordham (2-2), then-ranked No. 22 Saint Louis (1-1), La Salle (0-0), and VCU (0-0).
Jaimee Cibulka leads the team in points with eight, as she is tied for first with three goals, alongside Taylor Harrison and Emily Rossi. All three of Harrison's goals have been game-winners.
