Jones Joins Massachusetts Women’s Soccer As Assistant Coach

Kendra Jones added to Minutewomen staff after a year as assistant coach at Drexel University, while Mary Hearin adds recruiting coordinator to title.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer head coach Jason Dowiak announced Wednesday that Kendra Jones has joined the program as an assistant coach. Jones comes the Amherst following a season at Drexel University as an assistant coach.

Additionally, assistant coach Mary Hearin adds recruiting coordinator to her title.

While with the Drexel women's soccer program, Jones assisted with all aspects of team operation and oversaw the goalkeeper training. There, she helped with the planning of team training, analyzed and conducted team video sessions, scouted opponents, coordinated with strength and conditioning and athletic training to monitor student-athletes. She also organized community engagement opportunities and identified future student-athletes throughout a recruiting process.

Prior to her time at Drexel, Jones spent the 2024 season as the assistant coach at Elizabethtown College. She assisted the head coach in all facets of operation and coaching. She aided in the planning and execution of daily training and worked with the head coach to administer scouting reports for the team.

Jones also was the first assistant women's soccer coach at Niagara University through the 2023 year. With Niagara, she led all goalkeeper training, created and managed social media content for the program, created off-season workout packages, and helped with national and international recruitment of student-athletes.

She was also the women's soccer head coach at Washington & Jefferson College for four years after being promoted from assistant coach in July of 2019. As the head coach, she led all on-field training, with a focus on goalkeepers, and strength and conditioning, while analyzing and conducting individual and team video and opponent scouting.

Jones was on the coaching staff for seven youth club teams, including stints with Hampton Junior Soccer Club, Bayside United Football Club and Heidelberg United Football Club all based in Australia.

Jones played collegiate soccer at American University from 2009-11, before transferring to Villanova University for two years (2011-13). The Hershey, Pennsylvania, native graduated Cum Laude from Villanova with a Bachelor of Sciences in Marketing in 2013.
