AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer returns to the pitch on Sunday, October 13, to face Atlantic 10 rival Dayton at 1 p.m. at Rudd Field. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
UMass currently sits at 9-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the A-10 Conference, after tying Saint Joseph's, 2-2, last Sunday.

Senior midfielder Emma Pedolzky scored her first goal of the season to put the Minutewomn on top, 1-0, before the Hawks responded to tie up the match with a goal of their own. Senior midfielder Bella Recinos capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity in the second half of the match to push UMass ahead, 2-1, but another goal by SJU brought the game to its 2-2 draw.

Redshirt senior Bella Mendoza pushed aside four of nine shots faced and allowed two goals on the afternoon.

In The Rankings
Massachusetts earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches East Region Rankings for the sixth straight week, currently sitting in ninth. The team is behind Georgetown, Xavier, Saint Louis, Princeton, Creighton, UConn, Brown and Columbia, while ranking ahead of this week's opponent Dayton.

Mendoza is 43rd in the NCAA rankings with six shutouts on the season, and is one of only three goalkeepers in the A-10 to sit within the top-50.

Record Book Tracking
Redshirt senior goalkeeper Bella Mendoza placed her name on the program's career saves list, ranking eighth after collecting her 251st save at Saint Joseph's.

Mendoza earned her sixth shutout of the year against in the 1-0 win at St. Bonaventure, etching her name in the career records for the program. The San Ramon, California, native, is now tied for fourth with former Minutewoman Kristin Walker (2004-07) with 21 career shutouts, which includes Mendoza's eight combined shutouts.

Additionally, graduate student midfielder Ella Curry put her name on the career games played list, tying for third with 84 games played. She is also tied for seventh with 77 games started.

A-10 Standings
The Minutewomen are currently sit atop the leaderboard in the A-10 standings with their 4-1-1 record, collecting 13 points in the conference.

Dayton (4-1-0) is close behind with 12 conference points, while Saint Louis (3-0-2) and Fordham (3-1-2) are tied for third with 11 points. Loyola Chicago (2-0-4) rounds out the top-five with 10 points.

Regular Season Records At Rudd
Massachusetts holds a current 11-1-2 record at Rudd Field in its last 14 contests. The record includes home regular season matches dating back to August 31, 2023 to the current season. Prior to September 19 of this year, the Minutewomen went undefeated with a 9-0-2 record.

Statistically Speaking
UMass is sixth in points in the A-10 with 72, while ranking sixth in goals (26) and in assists (20). Massachusetts is fourth in shutouts with six on the season.

Recinos leads the team in points (18) and goals (eight), while adding two assists on the season. Her eight goals tie her for third the league, while her point total tie her for fifth. She also leads the team in game-winning goals with three and is tied for second in the A-10 Conference.

Recinos leads the team in shots (35) and shots on goal (19). In the league, she is tied for seventh in shots and fifth in shots on goal.

Chandler Pedolzky and Curry lead the team in assists with three each on the year, while Pedolzky follows close behind in points with 11, notching four goals on the season. Her 11 points rank her eighth in the A-10.

Mendoza tallied 1,260 minutes in net for the Minutewomen, averaging a 1.00 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .763 save percentage. She has also accumulated six shutouts on the year.

Mendoza has placed herself in the conference rankings, tying for fifth in goals-against-average with a 1.00. She is also tied for sixth in total saves with 45, while placing third in shutouts with six, averaging .429 shutouts per game.

Scouting Dayton
The Flyers lead the all-time series over the Minutewomen, 22-5-1. UMass and Dayton first met in the Atlantic 10 Championship game on November 10, 1996, with Dayton winning 3-2 in Kingston, Rhode Island. The two teams met last season in Dayton, Ohio, with the Flyers coming away with a 1-0 win.

Dayton holds an overall record of 10-3-0, with a league record of 4-1-0, earning wins over Richmond (4-0), George Mason (3-0), Duquesne (2-1) and Rhode Island (1-0).

Noel Blaine recorded a team-leading nine goals, while adding five assists for a team-high 23 points. Along with Blaine, Kyra Karfonta and Diana Benigno have each tallied five assists to lead the team. Blaine has taken a team-best 29 shots, with 14 on target.

In net, Batoul Reda has played in all 13 games for the Flyers, accumulating 1,170 minutes. She holds a 1.00 GAA and a .740 save percentage with seven shutouts on the season.
