AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team will play a pair of games this week, beginning with a Tuesday afternoon matchup against No. 17-ranked Vermont before a home conference game against George Washington on Saturday. Tomorrow's match kicks off at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
Series vs. Vermont
The last time the Minutemen and Catamounts squared off, UMass traveled to Burlington in 2022 for a game that ended 3-0 in favor of Vermont. The Minutemen's last win over Vermont came in 2017 by way of a 2-1 victory at Rudd Field. The Minutemen are 10-25-6 all-time against Vermont.
Series vs. George Washington
Saturday's match will mark the 30th time the Atlantic 10 opponents will face each other. UMass was able to best the now Revolutionaries, 4-1 at Mount Vernon Athletic Field in Washington D.C. UMass has gone 3-1-1 in the last five meetings against George Washington and leads the all-time series 15-11-3.
Conference Leaders
Senior forwards Alec Hughes and Nick Zielonka are atop the Atlantic 10 Conference leaders in offense. Hughes leads the A-10 in five separate categories. He is first in points (14), goals (7), goals per game (.78), shots per game (4.00) and shots on goal per game (2.00). Zielonka on the other hand, is in solo lead of total assists with six and is second in assists per game with .67.

For our Saturday game against George Washington, fans should plan for extra travel time due to an increase in traffic from the football game on campus. All soccer fans need to park in Lot 67 on Mullins Way (across from the Turf REC Fields). For easy access, fans should come through campus on N Hadley Road. For a full map, please click here.
Looking Ahead
UMass hits the road for a pair of conference games following Saturday's match to take on St. Bonaventure on Oct. 4 before playing Saint Joseph's on Oct. 7. The Minutemen return to Rudd Field on Oct. 14 for a 1 p.m. kickoff with Fordham.
