AMHERST, Mass - The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team is back on Rudd Field this Saturday for the first of a three game homestand. The Minutemen will take on VCU in a conference matchup at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
Series vs. VCU
Saturday's match will be just the ninth time the Minutemen and Rams will square off. The Rams won the first ever matchup 4-0 in 2013 during VCU's first season in the Atlantic 10. The Rams and Minutemen haven't scored a goal in the last two meetings as they battled to a 0-0 draw in 2021 and 2022. UMass' last victory over VCU came in 2017 when the Minutemen won 3-1 in the second round of the A-10 tournament. VCU currently holds the series lead with a 3-2-4 record.
Protecting the Fort
The Minutemen are currently riding a 15 game unbeaten streak at home. The streak dates back to October 9th, 2021. In those 15 games, UMass is 7-0-8 while outscoring opponents 25-10.
Alumni Weekend
This week we welcome back our former players for Alumni Weekend. Friday night, we invite all alumni to join us in the Massachusetts Room on the third floor of the Mullins Center for an Alumni Gathering at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the VCU game on Saturday, we will also have our alumni game at 9 a.m., followed by a tailgate.  To attend the events, please click here to sign up.
Parking Advisory
Due to the football game on Saturday, there will be an increase in on campus traffic and fans should plan for extra time in their travel plans. All soccer fans will need to park in Lot 67 on Mullins Way (across from the Turf REC Fields). For easiest access, fans should come through campus on N Hadley Road. For a full map, please click here.
The Minutemen are at Rudd Field for the next two games. On Tuesday, September 26th, UMass will host #17 Vermont at 4 p.m. UMass finishes their three game home stretch with a conference matchup against George Washington on Saturday, September 30th.
