McGowan, Tosone Earn USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Honors

Fiona McGowan was named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Second-Team while Audra Tosone earned honorable mention.
AMHERST, Mass. – Fiona McGowan and Audra Tosone of the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team were named all-Americans by the USA Lacrosse Magazine on Tuesday afternoon. McGowan earned the second-team nod while Tosone was named honorable mention.
McGowan (Westwood, Mass.) was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league in points and assists. The senior currently ranks fifth among Division I leaders in assists with 69 and is sixth in points per game at 2.61. McGowan also ranks seventh nationally in both points with 90 and points per game with 5.00. The attacker recorded a 10-point game in the regular season finale against George Mason, marking the most points in a single game by an A-10 player since February of 2021.
Tosone (Walpole, Mass.) was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year after posting 44 caused turnovers this season to rank second-most in a single season in program history. The senior ranks seventh nationally in caused turnovers per game at 2.39 and has helped the Minutewomen rank 12th nationally as a team in the category. Tosone also led a UMass defense that posted the nation's sixth-best scoring defense at 8.39. The defender's 3.06 ground balls per game is 10th-most in the country for a team that ranks third in the category.
The no. 16-ranked Minutewomen begin the NCAA Tournament on Friday with a 2 p.m. draw against no. 19-ranked Johns Hopkins in Syracuse, N.Y.
