AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team continues its six-game road trip on Friday at Yale. The Minutewomen and Bulldogs tip off at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Series History
The Minutewomen and Bulldogs meet for the eighth time in the series history on Friday with UMass trailing 3-4 all-time dating back to the first meeting during the 1982-83 season. The home teams have prevailed in every meeting in the series, with UMass holding a 3-0 advantage at home with Yale posting a 3-0 mark on its home floor with a neutral site win in the series. The Minutewomen won the last meeting a season ago in Amherst by a score of 72-57.
On The Road Again
Friday's game marks the fifth game of a six-game stretch of contests away from home for the Minutewomen. UMass started the road stretch at Monmouth on Nov. 19 and conclude the road trip on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Boston College.
Stacking Double Doubles
Junior Stefanie Kulesza recorded her third double-double of the season as she finished with a career-best 20 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to no. 23-ranked Washington State. Kulesza's three double-doubles had her ranked atop the A-10 and 15th nationally in the category while currently ranking second in the A-10 and 17th in the country heading into Friday's matchup.
From Deep
Kristin Williams ranks second among A-10 leaders in made 3-pointers this season with 18 and is among the top-60 nationally in the category. Williams has made three or more triples in four games this season and hit a career-high four against Maryland on Saturday.
Helping Hand
Tori Hyduke has a team-leading 25 assists on the season to rank second in the A-10 and 70th nationally in total assists on the season. Hyduke posted a new career-best seven assists against Green Bay on Nov. 23 and followed with six assists against Maryland on Nov. 25.
South Of The Border
The Minutewomen played three games at the Cancun Challenge in Riviera Maya, Mexico from Nov. 23-25. UMass squared off against three teams receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches Top-25 polls, including then no. 23-ranked (AP Poll) Washington State.
Looking Ahead
UMass follows play at Yale with a matchup against in-state opponent Boston College on Dec. 6 in Chestnut Hill. The Minutewomen return home on Dec. 10 against UMass Lowell for the first of two home games to wrap up non-conference competition.
