AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team is set for three games in three days at the Cancun Challenge. The Minutewomen open round robin play on Thursday against Green Bay at 1:30 p.m. ET on FloSports.
Last Time Out
UMass rallied to take its first lead of the game in the fourth quarter after falling behind by as many as 18 points in the second in Sunday's loss at Monmouth. The MInutewomen forced the Hawks into 26 turnovers and picked up nine steals, including a tied for career-best four from Jermany Mapp.
Nice To Meet You
The Minutewomen will match up with Green Bay and Washington State for the first time in program history at the Cancun Challenge. It marks three consecutive first-time matchups for UMass.
Crashing The Boards
Stefanie Kulesza ranks 14th nationally and leads the A-10 in total rebounds with 45 through the first five games. The senior averages a team leading 9.0 rebounds per game and has reached 10 or more rebounds in three games this year, with a career-high 14 in the opener against Saint Peter's.
Gimme Dat
Jermany Mapp tied her career high with four steals in Sunday's game at Monmouth and leads the Minutewomen with nine on the season. Mapp's nine steals rank her fifth among A-10 leaders in the category.
Double Up
Stefanie Kulesza leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 18th among DI leaders in double doubles on the season with two in the first five games. Kulesza recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds for her first career double double in game one and added 13 points and 10 rebounds against Harvard.
Road Stretch
The Minutewomen began a six-game stretch away from home on Sunday at Monmouth and play three neutral games and three true road games during the 17-day span.
Looking Ahead
UMass continues its road stretch after the Cancun Challenge with two games away from the Mullins Center, beginning with Yale on Dec. 1 before wrapping up the road trip on Dec. 6 at Boston College.
