Olivia Gouldsbury scored her fifth collegiate goal in the 51st-minute for the Minutewomen.
Olivia Gouldsbury scored the lone goal for the Minutewomen in the 51st-minute with a left-footed blast from five yards outside of the 18-yard box that went over the keeper and bounced down into goal for her fifth career goal. Ashley Lamond picked up an assist on the goal after taking her defender towards the middle of the field before playing a cross over to Gouldsbury.
Pittsburgh held a 4-0 advantage at the break after outshooting the Minutewomen 23 to one in the first 45 minutes. The Panthers put 12 of those shots on goal with Amanda West scoring twice in the opening 21 minutes.
Megan Olszewski finished with eight saves in the opening half for the Minutewomen on 12 shots faced. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Russell made her first regular season appearance in goal for UMass in the second half, finishing with four saves in the final 45 minutes.
UMass put three of its seven shots on target with Lauren Bonavita, Gouldsbury, and Bella Recinos each finding the frame of goal.
