Noah Ellis Latest Addition To Massachusetts Hockey's Incoming Freshman Class

The 6-2, 192-pound right-shot defenseman was a sixth round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has added, Noah Ellis, a 6-2, 192-pound right-shot defenseman to its incoming freshman class for 2022-23, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Thursday. Ellis, a native of Urbandale, Iowa, joins forwards Michael Cameron and Kenny Connors and defenseman Mikey Adamson as the fourth member of the Minutemen's Class of 2026. He was selected in the sixth round, 184th overall, by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
"Noah is a draft pick of the Vegas Golden Knights and has played the last three seasons in the USHL," said Carvel. "Noah has great size and mobility and an uncanny ability to score from the blue line. He will help fill one of the holes left on our blue line from last season. Noah is a smooth skating, heads up player with the puck and should add to our list of very good offensive defensemen to come through our program."
Ellis played 164 games over four years in the USHL (United States Hockey League), totaling 68 points on 21 goals and 47 assists. He appeared in nine games with the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2018-19 before spending two full seasons with the organization in 2019-20 and 2020-21. He spent the 2021-22 campaign with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and registered 40 points on 11 goals and 29 assists over 68 contests.
In 2019-20, Ellis played in the Hilnka Gretzky Cup with the Team USA U18 squad and had four points on two goals and two assists over four games.
