Men’s Track & Field Places Sixth At Atlantic 10 Championships

Honohan earns bronze in 400m dash, takes fourth in 200m on Sunday.

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field finished sixth in the final team standings at the Outdoor Atlantic 10 Championships on Sunday, held at VCU's Sports Backers Stadium. The Minutemen posted a score of 57 points, while Rhode Island captured the team title with a score of 184.5, followed by George Mason in second (128), Davidson third (122), VCU fourth (101.5) and Duquesne fifth (69).
 
Lucas Honohan collected the lone medal of the day for UMass, earning bronze in the 400 meter dash in 48.49 seconds, while finishing just off the podium in 200 meter dash, running 21.66 seconds to fourth.
 
Daniel Dubsky placed sixth in 400 meter hurdles, Joseph Manchester was fourth in javelin with a throw of 183 feet, 4 inches and Tevin Early took eighth in discus at 147 feet, 11 inches.
 
The Minutemen's 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 relay both took home fifth with times of 42.52 and 3 minutes, 18.84, respectively.
 
UMass will be back in action next weekend, May 13-14, at the New England Championships at Bryant in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
