UMass' Norberg To Compete In NCAA 3,000m Steeplechase Quarterfinals Friday

The sophomore will race at the Haugh Track & Field Complex on the campus of Indiana University at 5:40 p.m.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field sophomore Michael Norberg will make his NCAA East Preliminary debut when he races in the 3,000 meter steeplechase quarterfinals on Friday, May 27 at 5:40 p.m. at the Haugh Track & Field Complex on the campus of Indiana University.

Norberg will run in in the third of three heats. The top three from each heat plus the next three best times will advance to the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
The Norfolk, Massachusetts native posted the fifth-fastest 3,000 meter steeplechase time in program history at the Friar Invitational, clocking in at 8 minutes, 56.03 seconds. He went on to earn a silver medal in steeple at the A-10 Championships and won the New England title a week later.
