Massachusetts Track And Field Wraps Up Season At NCAA East Regionals

LEXINGTON, Ky – The University of Massachusetts men's track and field program finished its season at the NCAA East Regional meet at the UK Track and Field Complex. Riley Cole, Matthew Acquah and Collin Catherwood each recorded finishes within the top 40 of their respective events.
Cole placed eighth in his heat and 26th overall in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 8:51.21. Cole finished his career with the third-fastest time in the 3K steeplechase in men's outdoor program history with a finish of 8:46.92, a mark that he set at the Penn Relays on April 25.
Acquah took 33rd in the men's triple jump with a leap of 15.18 meters (49'9.75"). At the conclusion of his sophomore season, Acquah currently holds both the indoor and outdoor program record in the triple jump in men's program history, including becoming the first athlete in men's outdoor history to surpass the 51' mark; a distance he achieved at the MAC Outdoor Championship on May 14-16.
Collin Catherwood placed 41st in the men's 5k with a finish of 14:27.36. Catherwood previously set the men's outdoor 5k program record this past season at the Penn Relays on April 25th with a time of 13:45.84.
