Doerries posted the top performance of the day for the Minutewomen, taking sixth in high jump.
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Minutewomen wrapped up at the Black and Gold Invitational on Saturday at UCF. Lea Doerries' leap landed her in sixth place in the high jump.
Doerries led the Minutewomen in the high jump, tying for sixth place at a height of 5' 3.75", followed by Courtney Rowland in 11th (5' 3.75").
On the track, the 4x100-meter relay B team (Sarah Yocum, Jordan Lafave, Katelyn Gorgenyi, Lillian Kirry) claimed 8th (47.51 seconds) and the A team (Grace Poku, Caroline Schissel, Abby Collins, Faith Richardson) followed in 10th (47.76 seconds). In the 4x400-meter relay, Yocum, Kira Kopec, Elizabeth Hoenes, and Kirry raced to fifth with a time of 3:49.48.
Yocum was the first Minutewoman to cross the finish line in the 100-meter hurdles, claiming 13th with a time of 14.26 seconds. Kirry (22nd, 14.74 seconds), Kopec (26th, 14.85 seconds), and Gorgenyi (27th, 14.98 seconds) followed.
In the 400-meter dash, Daniella Pierre ran to 26th with a time of 59.64 seconds. Hoenes was on her heels, claiming 27th with a time of 59.78 seconds. Poku (28th, 12.18 seconds) and Richardson (31st, 12.28 seconds) were the Minutewomen's top finishers in the 100-meter dash.
The Minutewomen return to action next Friday and Saturday as the squad heads to NC State for the Raleigh Relays.
