Kopec, Yocum enter UMass' all-time list in the 400-meter hurdles.
ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Massachusetts women's track and field opened up its outdoor campaign on Friday at UCF. The Minutewomen saw two all-time marks set in the 400-meter hurdles on day one of the Black and Gold Invitational.

Lillian Kirry finished fifth overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.87. Kira Kopec and Sarah Yocum followed with times of 1:01.27 and 1:02.09, respectively, good for sixth and eighth place in the meet and fourth and sixth place all-time in the program's record book.

Grace Poku was the top finisher for the Minutewomen in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.40 seconds, good for 57th place.

In the field, Sophia Casciano competed in the pole vault. Danielle Reicherts led the Minutewomen in the long jump with a leap of 18' 0.25", good for 16th place. Kira Kopec (30th, 16' 11.5"), Jordan Lafave (31st, 16' 9.75"), and Elizabeth Lodge (40th, 15' 6.25") also competed in the long jump.

Action will resume on Saturday at UCF with the women's 4x100-meter relay starting at 12:00 p.m.
