Minutewomen Medal In Triple Jump And Shot Put On Final Day Of A-10 Championships

McDonald takes home silver in triple jump and Notarfrancesco collects bronze in shot put.
FAIRFAX, Va. – University of Massachusetts women's track and field collected medals in triple jump and shot put on the final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships at George Mason University Fieldhouse on Sunday. The Minutewomen finished in the final team standings with a score of 71, while VCU captured the team title with a score of 126.
Senior Emily McDonald picked up her second medal of the weekend with a silver in triple jump, leaping 40 feet, 1.25 inches, good for fifth all-time in program history.
In shot put, senior Danielle Notarfrancesco earned bronze in shot put with her toss of 47 feet, 1 inch.
UMass scored two in high jump with freshmen Courtney Rowland and Madelyn Krohto both clearing 5 feet, 5.75 inches for fourth and sixth, respectively.
The Minutewomen earned a trio of sixth-place finishes on the track on Sunday with Lillian Kirry running 56.94 in the 400 meter dash, Samantha Schwers posting a time of 2 minutes, 15.63 seconds in 800 meter run and Lily Robinson crossing the finish of the 3,000 meter run in 9 minutes, 52.41 seconds.
In 60 meter dash, junior Grace Poku was seventh with a time of 7.79 seconds and freshman Faith Richardson followed in eighth at 7.92 seconds.
Graduate student Sarah Yocum rounded out the UMass individual scorers with an eight-place finish in 60 meter hurdles at 9.65 seconds.
The Minutewomen's 4x400 meter relay team of Yocum, Kira Kopec, Daniella Pierre and Kirry, combined for a fifth-place time of 3 minutes, 51.93 seconds.
UMass' 4x800 meter relay squad of Eugenia Fairhurst, Jaden Young, Colette O'Leary and Schwers came in eighth at 9 minutes, 22.48 seconds.
