AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team begins a stretch of three games in six days as they take on Fordham tomorrow on the road. The Minutemen and Rams begin at 7 p.m. on ESPN+ from Rose Hill Gym.

Minutemen From Range
UMass ranks 16th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage at .382 and sits 14th nationally in 3-point field goals per game with 9.9. The Minutemen also rank 28th in total 3-pointers made and lead the Atlantic 10 in the category in addition to leading the league in 3-pointers per game. UMass is led from deep by Rich Kelly's 48-percent clip on the year, who leads the A-10 in the category by more than 3-percent over the next highest.
On The Glass
The Minutemen outrebounded VCU 36-27 on Saturday in the Mullins Center as three different players finished with seven or more rebounds. Trent Buttrick and Michael Steadman each hauled in eight boards while Greg Jones chipped in seven off the bench.
Against The Rams
UMass has won three straight over Fordham with the Rams' last win coming during the 2018-19 season in Amherst. The Minutemen won the last meeting on Jan. 17, 2021 by a score of 65-46 with returners T.J. Weeks scoring 11 points while Noah Fernandes dished out five assists.
The Road Ahead
The Minutemen are set for three games in six days next week beginning with Monday's matchup at Fordham in a game that was originally postponed due to COVID protocol in the Rams' program. UMass matches up again with Fordham for Senior Day on Wednesday, March 2 in the Mullins Center and close out the regular season on the road at George Mason on Saturday.
Helping Hand
Fernandes ranks 22nd in the nation in assists per game with 5.4 and ranks 55th in assist to turnover ratio at 2.2. The junior also leads the Minutemen in scoring has posted scoring outputs of 18 or more in seven games and finished in double figures in 18-of-23 contests. Fernandes set a new career-high in assists with 12 at St. Bonaventure (2/16) and added 14 points to post his second career double-double.
Steady Groovin'
Michael Steadman has been finding his groove offensively for the Minutemen and is averaging 12.2 points per game over the last five games. Steadman has scored 11 or more in four of the last five, starting the stretch with a 19-point performance against Saint Joseph's on Feb. 12 in which he scored 11 of the first 13 UMass points and started 5-of-5 from the field.
