Hankins-Sanford Signs Professional Contract

AMHERST, Mass. – The third member of last season's UMass men's basketball graduating class has signed professionally, as Daniel-Hankins Sanford has signed a deal with KK Sokoli 1933 out of the Macedonian First League in North Macedonia. Hankins-Sanford enjoyed a strong career for the Maroon and White, which included averaging 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season.

As a senior, Hankins-Sanford finished third and second on the Minutemen in those categories, respectively. As a junior, he averaged 9.8 points and a career-high 7.4 rebounds per contest and earned preseason All-MAC recognition prior to the ensuing campaign. In his first season at UMass in 2023-24, Hankins-Sanford averaged 6.5 points and 5.3 boards. Hankins-Sanford transferred to Amherst from the University of South Carolina.

The 2026-27 UMass season begins on Monday, Nov. 2 at defending Sun Belt Conference Champion Troy, with a matchup against Boston College later that week on Friday, Nov. 6 at TD Garden in Boston. The home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 11 against UMass Lowell.
