GENEVA, Ohio –
The Massachusetts swim and dive program closed out the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championships in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday evening. The Minutemen finished the week with a fifth-place finish, highlighted by Jack Artis' first place performance in the men's 100 and 200-backstroke. The Minutewomen closed out a seventh-place finish with a score of 256.
 
In the women's 200-back, Megan Mitchell took a time of 1:58.42, a personal best, to score six points for the Minutewomen. On the men's side Noah Witt took fifth place scoring 14 points. Caroline Mahoney took sixth in the 100-yard free, keeping the women in seventh place through event 32 of the week. Closing out the men's 100-free, Ethan Davey scored 11 points, clocking a time of 45.70.
 
Jack Artis led the day for the Minutemen, taking first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke, nearly matching his preliminary time at 1:59.31. Freddy Borg scored five points in the event at 2:03.79, a two-second improvement on his preliminary score.
 
In the 200-yard fly finals, Summer Pierce and Anna Kwon scored a combined 17 points for UMass.
 
Tommy Cotner scored 11 points for the Minutemen in the men's three-meter diving finals with a score of 242.55.

Friday, February 18 

GENEVA, Ohio – After day three of the Atlantic 10 swimming and diving championships, the Minutewomen have moved into seventh place, while the men have moved up one slot to third place heading into the final day of competition. 
 
In the 400-yard individual medley, Jane Denenberg scored four points for UMass with a time of 4:26.61. On the men's side, Jamie MacDonald scored nine points in ninth place, while Sam Haddad scored seven with a time of 3:56.35.
 
In the women's 100 yard free, Summer Pierce slotted a time of 55.49 while Alyvia Petrozza scored a point for Massachusetts in the final. Grant Beebe, Ethan Davey, and Beau Bengston each scored in the men's 100 yard free.
 
Emerson Kiefer took third in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:38.85 While Dias Konysbayev scored four points in the effort.
 
On the women's side, Mia Flagiello scored 11 points, finishing in eighth (1:02.89). Jack Artis took first with a time of 54.58 in the 100-yard free, while Freddie Borg scored 15 points, coming in fourth place.
 
Megan Mitchell took sixth in the 100-back, while Caroline Mahoney took a time of 55.67 to score four points for the Minutewomen. In the men's 100 back, Noah Witt clocked in at 48.62 while Beau Bengston took 11th with a 5.5-point performance.
 
In the diving well, Emma Petrovich scored 238.4 points for 12th place.
 
The Minutewomen scored 22 points after finishing eighth in the 400-yard medley, while Noah Witt, Jack Artis, Grant Beebe, and Charlie Rothenberger took fifth.

GENEVA, Ohio. -- After day two at Spire Institute, The Minutemen have improved to third place in the A-10 Championship Standings, while the women have dropped to sixth place. Competition will continue at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. 

Wilson Dubois clocked a time of 4:26.23 in the 500 Free to clinch second place for the Minutmen. While Emerson Kiefer took fourth with a time of 4:28.55.
 
Tommy Cotner placed fifth in the men's one-meter finals with a score of 258.05.
 
In the men's 200 free relay, Charlie RothenbergerBeau BengstonEthan Davey Jr., and Juan Montori nailed a time of 1:22.12 for a sixth-place finish.
 
In the women's 200-yard free relay, the Minutewomen took fifth place as Maggie DesmondCaroline MahoneyKelsey Cordery, and Emily Rudiman finished with a time of 1:33.39.  While Caroline Mahoney took 8th in the 50 free final.

GENEVA, Ohio – The Massachusetts swim and dive program kicked off the 2022 Atlantic 10 championships on Wednesday afternoon at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The teams closed day one sitting in fourth place on the men's side, while the women finished the day in fifth.
 
In the first event of the evening, Bri WilliamsMia FlagielloSummer Pierce, and Maggie Desmond took sixth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.32.
 
Emma Petroviich clinched second in the women's one-meter diving finals with a score of 264.95.
 
In the men's 200-medley relay, the squad of Noah WittJack ArtisEthan Davey Jr., and Charlie Rothenberger took sixth place while Juan MontoriEmerson KieferDias Konysbayev, and Eric Eastham took fourth place in the 800 free relay to close day one of competition.
