Women's Track And Field Sees Final Action Ahead Of A-10 Championships At Yale Saturday

Minutewomen win the 400m and 4x400 meter relay at the Giegengack Invitational Saturday.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – University of Massachusetts women's track & field saw its final action ahead of the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championships, competing at the unscored Giegengack Invitational on Saturday, competing alongside Brown, Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, Southern Connecticut and Yale.
Lillian Kirry took the top spot in 400 meter dash, running 57.68 seconds to first. Daniella Pierre was fourth (59.77), while Jennifer Nadig and Tessa Bostwick followed in fifth and seventh, with times of 1 minute, 0.07 seconds and 1 minute, 0.59 seconds, respectively.
In 60 meter dash, Caroline Schissel placed second (7.82), Faith Richardson third (7.82) and Pierre seventh. Jordan Lafave took the runner up spot in 200 meter dash in 26.26 seconds and Schissel was third in 26.57 seconds.
Sarah Yocum claimed third in 60 meter hurdles, clocking in at 8.78 seconds. Katelyn Gorgenyi was sixth (9.19) and Tyler Berry was seventh (9.39).
In 800 meter run, Jaden Young clocked in at 2 minutes, 21.86 to place sixth, while Alexsandra Bettencourt (2:27.04) and Hannah Beckman (2:27.36) followed in seventh and eighth. Rebekah James captured seventh in the mile run at 5 minutes, 23.61 seconds.
Emily McDonald led the UMass top-eight finishers in long jump in second with a mark of 18 feet, 5 inches. Lafave was sixth (17'8.75") and Tiarra Deveaux eighth (17'4.75"). Courtney Rowland cleared 5 feet, 3.75 inches in high jump to land fifth and Berry (35'8") and Jessica Green (35'6.5") were seventh and eighth in triple jump, respectively.
Danielle Notarfrancesco placed third in shot put at 46 feet, 5.25 inches and fourth in weight throw (53'), while Gabriella Pagnini was fifth (52'4").
UMass' 4x400 meter relay of Yocum, Elizabeth Hoenes, Kira Kopec and Lillian Kirry was victorious with a time of 3 minutes, 53.90 seconds.
