Kirry Sets New UMass Top-Five All-Time Mark At Valentine Invitational Friday

The sophomore entered UMass’ all-time list for the 400 meter dash.
BOSTON – University of Massachusetts women's track and field had several individuals in action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday. Among the day's highlights, sophomore Lillian Kirry etched her name into UMass' indoor 400 meter list for the first time.
Kirry ran 56.574 seconds to 20th in the 400, good for fourth in program history.
In pole vault, Sophia Casciano cleared 11 feet, 3.75 inches to tie for sixth in the event. In 60 meter hurdles, Sara Yocum ran 8.82 seconds to seventh in the final.
UMass will continue this weekend's action tomorrow, Feb. 12, at Yale's Giegengack Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut.
