Levay's Late Goal Gives UMass 2-1 Win Over Dartmouth

Ryan Levay scored the game-winning goal in the 86th-minute of an assist from Joe Leslie.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team rallied back from down a goal to score two in the second half on their way to a 2-1 win over Dartmouth on Wednesday afternoon at Rudd Field. Ryan Levay scored the game-winning goal in the 86th-minute to give the Minutemen (4-1-1 Overall) their fourth win heading into Atlantic 10 play on Saturday.
Levay's goal came on a header following a cross by Joe Leslie from the right side of the 18-yard box to the far post for Levay, who headed it down and to the Dartmouth keeper's right for his first goal of the season.
Leslie had the equalizer just over 20 minutes earlier to tie things up at 1-1, scoring his team-leading fourth goal of the season after Yosuke Hanya found the sophomore from the end line for a right footed goal.
Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead in the 25th-minute on a Bern Jenkins goal from about 12-yards out. The Big Green finished the day with 13 shots and three on goal. Dartmouth attempted eight shots in the second half and put two on target with both being saved away by UMass goalkeeper Marvyn Dorchin.
The Minutemen produced the majority of their offense in the second half, attempting eight of its 12 shots in the final 45 minutes with three on target. Leslie and Filippo Begliardi Ghidini each attempted a team-high four shots for the Minutemen with Leslie putting three of his attempts on frame.
UMass remains home on Saturday for the Atlantic 10 opener against No. 24-ranked Saint Louis at 1 p.m.
