Massachusetts Earns IWLCA Academic Accolades

AMHERST, Mass. – The IWLCA announced Monday that the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team has been named as an Academic Honor Squad for the 2020-21 academic year. Additionally, 10 members of the 2021 team have earned Division I Academic Honor Roll distinction: Brinley Anderson, Courtney Barrett, Haley Connaughton, Emma Farnham, Lauren Hiller, Maya Keenan-Gallagher, Kelly Marra, Maddy Moloney, Amy Moreauand Nikki Torres.
To qualify for this prestigious team honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. To be eligible for the individual honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
The Minutewomen finished the season 15-3 during a year that saw Massachusetts capture a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title, its first Atlantic 10 Tournament championship since 2017, and go on a 14-game winning streak that was the fifth longest in program history. UMass made its 13th ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and first since 2017.
