Massachusetts To Host 2021 Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship

AMHERST, Mass. – After securing a share of the Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship, the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team will host the conference championship this weekend at Garber Field.
UMass, the No. 2 seed in the field, will take on No. 3 seed Davidson at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 27. No. 1 seed Richmond and No. 4 seed Saint Joseph's will play in the first semifinal at 12 p.m. on Friday, with the winners advancing to the championship game on Sunday, April 29 at 12 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Minutewomen enter the championship tournament winners of 12 in a row, tied for the fifth longest winning streak in program history. Massachusetts concluded the regular season with a 13-2 overall record and an 8-0 mark in Atlantic 10 games. It is the ninth all-time season in which UMass went undefeated in Atlantic 10 play alongside the 2011-17 and 2019 campaigns.
UMass is led by Haley Connaughton, who has 73 points (37 goals, 36 assists) on the season, Kaitlyn Cerasi (35 goals, 27 assists) and the nation's top draw specialist in Caitlyn Petro (200 draws). In goal, Lauren Hiller is 13-2 on the year with a 9.52 goals against average and .436 save percentage.
