AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team returns home to the Mullins Center for its next three contests, beginning with UMass Lowell tomorrow at 7 p.m. on NESN+. The Minutemen also host Rutgers on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. and Harvard on Saturday, Dec. 4 at noon as part of the three-game homestand.
 
Jersey Mike's Classic
UMass fell to Ball State 89-86 in its third and final game of the Jersey Mike's Classic on Sunday in Saint Petersburg, Fla. The Minutemen dropped the first game of the tournament to Weber State on Thursday before bouncing back on Friday with a 93-90 overtime win over UNC Greensboro. UMass stormed back from down 13-0 early and went into the break tied after a Noah Fernandes buzzer beating 3-pointer. Fernandes finished with a career-high 25 points and went 11-of-12 at the line for a UMass team that finished 26-of-28 from the stripe.
 
Fernandes On Fire
Noah Fernandes put together back-to-back games with new career-highs in scoring, first with 21 on Thursday against Weber State before setting a new career-high the following day on Friday with 25 points in the win over UNC Greensboro.
 
Home Sweet Home
The Minutemen are home in the Mullins Center for their next three games beginning with the game against UMass Lowell tomorrow as part of the Kennedy Cup Challenge. UMass heads into the three-game homestand with a 2-0 record at home and are outscoring opponents 79-58 on its home court.
 
They're Free, Right?
UMass shot 93-percent (26-of-28) from the line in the win over UNC Greensboro, including going 24-of-24 in the second half and overtime. The performance at the line marked the first time since Jan. 20, 2018 that a UMass team has shot over 90-percent from the stripe with a minimum 10 attempts.
