Cerasi had four goals in two assists in UMass' 15-11 win over No. 5 Boston College
AMHERST, Mass. – After leading the UMass women's lacrosse team to a 15-11 win over No. 5 Boston College on Saturday, senior attack Kaitlyn Cerasi has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Cerasi had four goals and two assists in the victory over the Eagles, which marked the Minutewomen's first-ever win over a top-five opponent as well as the first win against Boston College since 2008.

Cerasi scored twice in the first half and added another two in the final 30 minutes, including her fourth of the afternoon with 6:42 to play to give Massachusetts a four-goal cushion. UMass, after going down 10-9 with 13 minutes left, rattled off six of the game's final seven goals to knock off the Eagles.

During the preseason, the Wantagh, N.Y. native was named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team. Cerasi was an IWLCA All-Region Second Team, All-Atlantic 10 First Team and Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team selection as a junior last season. She led UMass in points and assist, had five game-winning goals including in OT vs. Richmond (Apr. 14). The Wantagh, N.Y. native was the quarterback of NCAA's second ranked offense and individually ranked third in the A-10 for total points and total assists. Nationally, she was 20th in total assists and 19th in assists per game (2.17 – 3rd among A-10 players), and her 4.78 points per game was 1st in the A-10 and 18th nationally.

Cerasi and the Minutewomen, who moved up to No. 13 in the Nike/US Lacrosse rankings this week, will be back in action on Saturday when UMass hosts Dartmouth at 1 p.m. Admission to all women's lacrosse games on Garber Field is free of charge!
