AMHERST, Mass. – Seventeen home games and a Frozen Four rematch in Denver highlight University of Massachusetts hockey's schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season, which was announced on Friday. The slate features 24 Hockey East games and 10 non-league contests with 16 of the home matchups being played on Fridays and Saturdays.

For a second straight year, the Minutemen will open up at the Mullins Center vs. Rensselaer on Fri., Oct. 11, and will begin their quest to defend their 2018-19 Hockey East regular season title with the start of league play on the road against 2018-19 Hockey East tournament champion Northeastern. UMass will then settle in at Mullins for the remainder of October for three non-conference games. Union comes to Amherst for a pair on Oct. 18-19, while the Minutemen will square off against Western Mass. rival and 2018-19 Atlantic Hockey champion American International on Fri., Oct. 25, for Homecoming Weekend.

Maine will visit the Mullins Center for a pair to kick off the December schedule on Dec. 6-7 and UMass will head to Brown on Tue., Dec. 10, for the first time since 1970 before breaking for exams and the holidays.

Upon returning to the East Coast, a home-and-home with Boston College will await the Minutemen, beginning in Chestnut Hill on Fri., Jan. 10. The Eagles will then visit Amherst on., Sat., Jan. 11.

UMass will head to Vermont for two on Jan. 17-18 before taking on UNH in a home-and-home on Jan. 24-25 beginning at the Mullins Center. The Minutemen will wrap up the month by hosting BC for a second time on Fri., Jan. 31.

Three more weekends of home-and-home series will await UMass in February with Providence (Feb. 7 (home) & Feb. 8 (away), followed by UMass Lowell (Feb. 21 (away) & Feb. 22 (home)) then UConn (Feb. 28 (away) & Feb. 29 (home)).
