Minutemen Earn United Soccer Coaches Academic Award For Fifth Straight Year

The yearly team award recognizes squads with combined team GPAs of 3.0 or better.

AMHERST, Mass. The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team was named a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winner as announced by the coaches' organization on Thursday afternoon. The award marks the fifth consecutive year that the Minutemen have been awarded the academic honor.
 
In order to be eligible for the team academic award, squads must have a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year. In addition to earning the award for the fifth straight year, it also marks the sixth time in seven years that UMass has received the honors.
 
UMass returns to the pitch this weekend at Rudd Field as they are set to host Saint Louis at 1 p.m. for Alumni Weekend.
