AMHERST, Mass. – Points are at a premium in the Atlantic 10 with only four matches left to play, and the Massachusetts women's soccer team will look to pick up three crucial points in the conference standings when the Minutewomen host Davidson on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. UMass is unbeaten in four of its last five matches (3-1-1), and is coming off a 1-1 draw at home against Dayton last weekend. The Minutewomen are currently in a three-way tie with Davidson and Fordham for fourth place in the league standings with 10 points (3-2-1).

Davidson enters Thursday's match 8-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Atlantic 10 after dropping its last two matches against Dayton and George Mason. The Minutewomen are 3-1-1 all-time against the Wildcats.

Massachusetts is led by freshman Melissa Kossler, who was recently listed at No. 31 among the top freshmen in the NCAA, according to TopDrawerSoccer.com's midseason rankings. Kössler is seventh in the nation with 28 points this season, including 11 goals (t-13th in the NCAA, first in the Atlantic 10) and six assists (second in the A-10). Her 2.33 points per game lead the Atlantic 10 and is sixth in the country, while her 2.33 shots per game are 10th in the nation (first in the A-10) and 0.92 goals per game are good for ninth in the NCAA (first in the A-10).
