AMHERST, Mass. - With victories in three of its last four matches, the UMass women's soccer team returns to Rudd Field on Sunday afternoon to host Dayton at 1 p.m. on ESPN+. The two squads are separated by just one point in the conference standings with just five games still to play as the battle for playoff seeding heats up. Massachusetts is coming off a 2-1 overtime win over Rhode Island last weekend to move into a four-way tie for fourth place in the league standings thanks to Sini Laaksonen's penalty kick conversion that earned the senior UMass Co-Student Athlete of the Week accolades. The Flyers, meanwhile, have wins in two straight matches entering Sunday to sit one point up of the Minutewomen.
Prior to the match Sunday, the Minutewomen will recognize the seven members of the senior class for their contributions to the UMass women's soccer program: Sarah Beaulieu, Rebeca Frisk, Laaksonen, Hrefna Petursdottir, Peyton Ryan, Alexandra Schafer and Julia Stojadinovic.
