Incoming Minutewoman freshman receives national recognition

CHICAGO – University of Massachusetts women's basketball signee and incoming freshman Grace Heeps has been named a McDonald's All-American Game nominee, it was announced on Wednesday.
 
Heeps, a native of East Greenbush, New York, is a 5-foot-11 guard and submitted her National Letter of Intent to UMass in November 2018 during the early signing period. She will join the Minutewomen beginning in 2019-20, along with fellow incoming freshmen Maeve Donnelly (Binghamton, New York), Angelique Ngalakulondi (Manchester, New Hampshire) and Sydney Taylor (Huntington Station, New York).
 
Regarded as one of the most prominent showcases in the United States, the final rosters for both the McDonald's All-American boys and girls teams will be unveiled on Thurs., Jan. 24. The All-American Girls Game, which is in its 18th year, tips off at 5 p.m. on Wed., March 27 and will air live on ESPN2 from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The 41st annual Boys Game will follow at 7 p.m.
