Frisk Shines As Women's Soccer Wins Big At UNH, 4-0
August 26, 2018 | Women's Soccer
Minutewomen post most goals against Wildcats since 1985; Frisk with career-best two tallies.
The win evens UMass' record at 2-2 on the year and showed a tremendous bounce-back effort after suffering a last-minute loss to Siena on Friday. The Minutewomen will have a week between matches as the Maroon and White travel to Delaware next Sunday, Sept. 2 for a 1 PM kickoff.
"We played our first complete game of the year and it was pretty to watch," said head coach Jason Dowiak. "Our possession was excellent and we created so many really beautiful chances. I'm so happy that our ladies responded so well and showed what they are capable of - especially against such a good opponent."
In Sunday's action, Jenny Hipp paced the Minutewomen early with a goal in the 12th minute of play following some nifty passing from Paige Kozlowski and Erin Doster.

Frisk added her first goal of the game just before halftime after slipping through the UNH (2-2) back line and then evading a charging Mia Neas in the 44th minute.
A red card in the 52nd minute put the Wildcats a man-down for the remainder of the match. Kelly Marra broke through the defense and was hauled down from behind giving the Minutewomen the man advantage for the next 38 minutes.
UMass capitalized 17 minutes later when UNH was unable to clear the ball out of its defensive third. After a service from the near corner flag, the Minutewomen saw nice touch passes between Sini Laaksonen and Erin Doster which set-up Frisk for her second goal of the day.
