Tamara Tatham Named to Raptors 905 Coaching Staff

Tatham becomes the first Canadian woman to serve a coaching role in a men’s professional league
TORONTO – University of Massachusetts women's basketball alumna Tamara Tatham, who played for the Minutewomen from 2003-07, has been named to the coaching staff of the Raptors 905, the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors. The 905 and Canada Basketball made the announcement on Wednesday.
Tatham becomes the first Canadian woman to serve in a coaching role in a men's professional league. She will serve as a mentor coach under 905 head coach Jama Mahlalela.
Before twice competing at the Olympic level, Tatham averaged 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while in Amherst. She did not miss a single game as a Minutewoman and finished her career third all-time in program history with 112 starts, including 69 consecutively to begin her career. Tatham was a two-time captain and closed her career with 1,186 points.
She went on to play with the Canadian senior women's national team from 2007-16. The native of Brampton, Ontario also represented Canada at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games in London and Rio de Janeiro, respectively. In June 2017, she was named an assistant coach at the University of Toronto under longtime head coach Michèle Bélanger.
