Senior defender had breakout season for the Minutewomen.

AMHERST, Mass. - After concluding her collegiate career with a breakout season, UMass women's lacrosse senior defender Kasey Keane was named to the All-ECAC Second Team as announced Thursday morning. It marked the fourth postseason honor for Keane who was also named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team, the All-Atlantic 10 First Team, and the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team.

Keane was UMass' top individual defender who led the A-10 in groundballs (63) and ranked third in caused turnovers (42). The Westwood, Mass., native had a breakout season as a full-time starter – doubling all her previous career-high totals for caused turnovers and groundballs for a season. Her 42 caused turnovers are the second most for a single-season in program history, while her 63 groundballs are the fourth best total. She finished her career for the Minutewomen with 67 caused turnovers which is tied for 10th-best all-time.

UMass concluded the season with a 14-5 overall record after going 8-1 in league play to earn a share of the regular-season title.
