Last Meeting With Mason
The two teams met earlier this October at Rudd Field with the Patriots earning a 1-0 win in a hotly contested match. Mason scored the lone goal in the 47th minute of play, but the Minutewomen held a 15-to-7 overall advantage in shots.
UMass In The A-10 Tournament
This will be UMass' 16th overall tournament appearance and first since 2014. The Minutewomen hold an 11-10-1 overall record in league postseason play having reached the finals six times with four overall titles since 1993. The Minutewomen last advanced out of the quarterfinals in 2013 thanks to PKs in a scoreless draw with Saint Louis.
Best Win Streak Since 1997
The eight-match win streak earlier this year matched the longest since the 1997 squad did the same. The 4-0 start to A-10 play was also the best since that season which saw the Minutewomen post a perfect 11-0 record in league play. UMass' win streak was the fourth longest in the country until the draw at Fordham.
Leading The A-10 And The NCAA
Through 17 matches, UMass is putting up prolific numbers this year. As a team, UMass ranks among the A-10 leaders in 12 different statistical categories including scoring offense (2nd, 2.27 goals/game) which also ranks 37th nationally. The Minutewomen rank second in the league in goals-against-average which is 35th in the NCAA (0.70 GAA). Nationally, UMass is 16th in total points (116), 33rd in total goals (36) and fourth in total assists (44). Individually, Peyton Ryan ranks second in the league in GAA (0.68), which is 39th nationally and is third in the A-10 for save percentage (0.810). Erin Doster leads the A-10 in total assists, while Lauren Bonavita (18), Rebeca Frisk and Jenny Hipp are eighth in total points.

Next Up
Following the trip to Dayton, the seedings for the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament will be announced. If the Minutewomen finish in the top-four of the regular-season standings, UMass would host a quarterfinal game at Rudd Field on Oct. 27 or Oct. 28. If UMass is in the bottom-four of the eight teams, they will play on the road for the quarterfinal round.
