Brown Named A-10 Offensive Player Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's soccer forward DeAndrae Brown was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a pair of road contests last week for the Minutemen. UMass split the two games away from home, picking up a 1-0 win over Fordham on Saturday to move into a playoff spot heading into the final three games of the season.

Brown (Springfield, Mass.) netted his first goal of the week on the road at Rhode Island, taking on two defenders from near the midfield all the way towards goal where the forward played it across the keeper and into the net. On Saturday, Brown scored the lone goal in a shutout win over the Rams, scoring his team-leading eighth goal in the 54th-minute on a rebounded shot into the top shelf of goal. Brown's eighth goal on the season moved him into second in the A-10 in goals and into a tie for third in points.

The Minutemen will return to Rudd Field for a pair of games this weekend on their home grass, opening the homestand with Davidson on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before hosting Dayton on Saturday for Senior Day.
