September 02, 2017 | Women's Soccer

Teams to square off at Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine.

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's soccer team takes to the road for the first time this season as the Minutewomen take on Maine in a neutral site match at Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. The opening kick-off is set for 7 PM at Hill Stadium and will be streamed live online via the America East Digital Network (AmericaEast.tv).

UMass (0-3-0) enters the match looking for its first win of the season, while Maine heads into Sunday night with a 1-2-1 record after defeating Holy Cross on Thursday.

The two sides have met four times previously with the Minutewomen holding a 3-0-1 mark against the Black Bears including a 1-0 win last season at Rudd Field.

Last weekend, UMass fell to Stony Brook and Vanderbilt at Rudd Field. Erin Doster tallied her first goal of the season against the Commodores giving the junior four markers for her career.

UMass was bolstered last weekend by the return of senior Gabriela Kenyon who had missed the season-opener due to injury and expects to have centerback Jenna Thomas returning to the back four soon.

Following the match, the Minutewomen will return home on Friday, Sept. 8 to host Delaware - the start of a six match home stand spanning the bulk of September.
