Women's Soccer Hosts Stony Brook On Friday

AMHERST, Mass. - It's a double-header Friday at Rudd Field as the UMass women's soccer team (0-1) returns to action to host Stony Brook prior to the men's season-opener against St. Francis. Kickoff for the women's game is set at 1 PM and the match will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network. The men's match will begin at 4 PM and admission is free to both.

This will be the first of two home games for UMass this weekend as the Minutewomen also host Vanderbilt on Sunday at Noon.

Massachusetts fell 3-0 to Central Connecticut State in the season opener last Saturday after posting a 2-0 mark in preseason exhibition matches against Vermont and Albany.

A total of six Minutewomen saw their first career action for UMass including starts by Dani Sclafani, Sini Laaksonen, and Kelly Marra.

This weekend will mark the first ever match-ups between Massachusetts and both Stony Brook and Vanderbilt.
