Santos, Crowley Earn Atlantic 10 Weekly Honors

Santos named co-player and Crowley named co-defensive players of the week.

AMHERST, Mass. - Coming off a pair of league wins over Davidson and Richmond last week, UMass senior attack Callie Santos and senior defender Sarah Crowley were honored with Atlantic 10 lacrosse weekly honors. Santos was tabbed the league's co-player of the week, while Crowley was named the co-defensive player of the week.

The Minutewomen defeated Davidson (16-6) on the road and Richmond (19-13) at home improving to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in the A-10. The wins also extended UMass' NCAA record regular-season conference win streak to 49 games.

Santos notched 10 points on eight goals and two assists while also adding two draw controls and a caused turnover on the week. In the road win at Davidson, she had a pair of goals and an assist along with a caused turnover. In the win over Richmond, also undefeated in league games entering Sunday, the Bedford, N.H., native had a career-highs in goals (6) and points (7) along with two draw controls. After the Spiders had pulled within three, 14-11, midway through the second half, Santos scored three goals in 84 seconds to put UMass back up by six with 12 minutes to go. Santos picked up her assist in the Richmond game on a goal just after her three-score outburst which gave UMass a seven-goal lead to set-up the win.
 
Crowley posted five caused turnovers, five draw controls, a groundball and an assist on the week. The Greenlawn, N.Y., native also helped the defensive unit hold both teams to a combined 1-for-10 on free position opportunities. In the win at Davidson, Crowley posted a pair of caused turnovers, two draw controls and a groundball. In the win against Richmond, which was previously undefeated in league play, she added three caused turnovers, three draw controls and an assist. UMass scored directly off two of her draw wins against the Spiders and she helped the defensive unit hold Richmond to 0-for-7 on free position shots.

2017 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship:
