Women's Soccer Heads To George Mason On Thursday

Minutewomen kick off three match road swing as regular-season winds down.
AMHERST, Mass. - The start of a three-match road swing begins Thursday night as the UMass women's soccer team head's to George Mason for the first of two games this week. Following Thursday's contest, the Minutewomen will then travel to Duquesne on Sunday. Both matches will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.
UMass enters the week with a 6-6-2 overall record and a 3-2-1 mark in A-10 action. Mason also enters the week with a 3-2-1 league record and a 6-8-1 overall mark. Both the Minutewomen and Patriots are tied for fifth in the league standings. Duquesne sits in second place with a 9-3-2 record overall and a 5-1-0 mark in league play.
The Minutewomen split their games last week with a 4-1 win over Rhode Island before suffering a 6-2 loss to league-leader La Salle. Overall, six different Minutewomen scored goals last week with Jenna Thomas adding two assists for a weekend-high four points. Before the loss to the Explorers, UMass had posted a 4-1-1 record over its previous six matches.
Erin Doster continues to lead UMass offensively with five goals and an assist for a team-best 11 points. Jenny Hipp leads the squad in assists with four alongside a pair of goals. Freshman Kelly Marra has made an instant impact on the team as all three of her goals this year have stood as game-winners.
Defensively, Cassidy Babin has started all 14 matches with a 1.49 goals-against-average and a 0.772 save percentage with four shutouts. She is the keeper of record at 6-6-2 overall.
