Women’s Basketball To Host National Girls and Women In Sports Day

Events featured include Q&A Panel, Youth Basketball Clinic, and autograph session.
AMHERST, Mass. – The UMass women's basketball team along with the University of Massachusetts Department of Athletics has announced a series of events to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day in conjunction with the Minutewomen's home game against Duquesne on Jan. 15 (1 p.m.).
The day will begin with a pre-game Question and Answer panel discussing the value of sports and how physical activity helps prepare people for all phases of life. The panel, which will be held from 10:45-11:15 a.m. in the Champions Center, will include administrators, student-athletes and coaches. The first 200 youth at the panel will receive a free UMass National Girls and Women in Sports Day t-shirt.
Following the nationally televised game against A-10 rival Duquesne, the Minutewomen will then hold a special one-hour basketball clinic and autograph session in the Champions Center for registered youth in the eighth-grade or younger.
The first 100 fans through the doors of the Mullins Center prior to the day's game will also receive a free #UniteTheMasses t-shirt as well.
