Women's Soccer Hosts Saint Joseph's in Home Finale

Minutewomen riding three match unbeaten streak.
AMHERST, Mass. - Riding a three-match unbeaten streak, the UMass women's soccer team hosts Saint Joseph's on Thursday afternoon at Rudd Field. The match will mark the home finale for the Minutewomen who are still in the hunt for the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament field.
UMass is coming off a 3-0 win over VCU last Sunday afternoon moving the Minutewomen into 12th in the league standings. At 3-9-3 overall and 1-5-2 in the Atlantic 10, UMass will need to win both its remaining matches this regular season and get significant help to qualify as one of the eight tournament teams.
After pitching the shutout over VCU and a clean sheet against Duquesne, keeper Cassidy Babin was honored this week as the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. The junior made a career-high nine saves in the draw against the Dukes and seven in the win over the Rams.
Offensively, Gabriela Kenyon scored against VCU to increase her team-lead in goals to three. Salma Anastasio and Megan Burke also scored goals in the win. Burke now has two this season with both serving as game-winners.
Babin's goals-against-average dropped to 1.30 following the VCU match while her save percentage increased to 0.800. She now has five shutouts this season and 12 for her career.
Saint Joseph's is the top team in the league with a 14-1-2 overall record and a 7-0-1 mark in A-10 play. After hosting the Hawks, UMass will head on the road to Dayton on Sunday for the regular-season finale. The Flyers are 5-8-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play to rank seventh in the standings.
