Women's Soccer Hosts Duquesne, VCU at Rudd Field

Minutewomen tangle with Dukes on Thursday, Rams on Sunday.

AMHERST, Mass. - Following a draw on Sunday at longtime rival Rhode Island, the UMass women's soccer team returns to Rudd Field to host Duquesne and VCU this week as the Minutewomen look to make a late run at the postseason. The match on Thursday against the Dukes has been changed to a 3:30 p.m. start, while Sunday's contest with VCU will kick-off at 1 p.m.

Both will be streamed online via the Atlantic 10 Digital Network. Admission and parking to both are free as well. Additionally, Sunday's match-up will be Senior Day and Alumnae Weekend for the Minutewomen as part of a two-day event held in conjunction with the men's program.

UMass is currently 13th in the Atlantic 10 standings, but just five points out from the eighth and final spot for the postseason tournament. At 9-4-2 overall and 5-1-0 in the A-10, Duquesne is currently third in the standings. VCU is seventh with a 7-7-1 overall record and a 3-3-0 league record.

Last week, Jackie Miller's first career goal helped the Minutewomen earn the draw at Rhode Island. She became the fifth different player to score a goal this season. Gabriela Kenyon continues to lead the team in goals scored (2) and points (4).

Defensively, Cassidy Babin has been the keeper of record with a 1.51 goals-against-average and a 0.764 save percentage.

Duquesne is led by Katie O'Connor who has 19 points this season on six goals and seven assists. Three other Dukes have double-digit points this season: Abby Losco (5g, 3a), Malea Fabean (4g, 3a), and Linnea Faccenda (4g, 2a). Defensively, Kyra Murphy has started every game with a 0.87 GAA and 0.840 save percentage.

VCU is led by Julia Suarez who has 13 points on five goals and three assists and Maddi Santo who has 10 points (4g, 2a). Audrey Sanderson is the keeper of record with a 1.11 GAA and a 0.805 save percentage.
