Women's Soccer Heads to Davidson, Rhode Island This Week

Minutewomen play Wildcats Thursday night, Rams on Sunday afternoon.

AMHERST, Mass. - The final half of the Atlantic 10 regular season begins Thursday night with the UMass women's soccer team heading to Davidson before coming back to New England to play at long-time rival Rhode Island on Sunday. The Minutewomen and Wildcats will kick off at 7 p.m. in North Carolina, while the match against the Rams is set for a 1 p.m. start. Both contests will be streamed online through the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.

The Minutewomen are coming off a tough stretch with a pair of home losses against George Mason and George Washington last weekend. This week's trip will mark the final two-match road trip of the year before a key three-game home stand begins next week. Overall, UMass enters this weekend with a 2-8-1 overall record and a 0-4-0 mark in league play.

Gabriela Kenyon continues to lead the Minutewomen in scoring with two goals and four points. Rebeca Frisk and Megan Burke have the other two goals for UMass this season.

Defensively, keeper Cassidy Babin has started all 11 matches with a 1.64 goals-against-average and a 0.743 save percentage with three shutouts to her credit.

Davidson enters the week with a 4-8-1 overall record and an 0-3-1 mark in league play. The Wildcats are led by Seely Yoo who has three goals and an assist for seven points. She is followed by Virginia Jesseleson who has two goals and two assists for six points. Four other Wildcats have a pair of goals this season. Keeper Alex Carpenter has started 11-of-13 matches this year sporting a 1.62 goals-against-average and a 0.778 save percentage with a 2-7-1 record. 

The Rams enter the weekend with a 3-6-3 overall ledger and a 0-3-1 record in A-10 action. Rhode Island is led by three players who each have six points. Taylor Ross and Nicole Brennan both have three goals to their credit, while Donika Murray has two goals and two assists. Emily Wakeford is just behind the trio with two goals and an assist. Katie Nickles is the keeper of record with a 1.25 GAA and a 0.778 save percentage.
