AMHERST, Mass. - Eight home games along with road contests at Boston College, UConn and Michigan highlight the 2016 UMass women's lacrosse schedule as announced by head coach Angela McMahon on Tuesday. UMass will enter the season seeking an Atlantic 10 record eighth consecutive league championship title.

Several milestones will be on the line as the Minutewomen kickoff the new season. Head coach Angela McMahon needs just one win to become the all-time winningest coach in program history. She is currently tied with Hall of Fame legend Pam Hixon with 91 victories at UMass. She also needs nine more wins to reach 100 for her career with the Minutewomen.

UMass also carries into 2016 a 36-game win streak in regular-season games against Atlantic 10 opponents which is currently tied as the longest such streak in NCAA history.

The upcoming campaign will also see a change in venue for the Minutewomen. For the first time since the 2006 campaign, UMass will return its home games to newly renovated Garber Field. Over the last nine years, UMass has played all home games at McGuirk Alumni Stadium where the Minutewomen posted a 55-17 home record including perfect home records in 2012 (11-0), 2013 (10-0) and 2015 (8-0).

The schedule will open with a four-game home stand at Garber Field starting Feb. 13 against Holy Cross (1 PM). Following the home stand, UMass will head to a three-game road swing at Boston College (Mar. 2), UConn (Mar. 12) and Michigan (Mar. 18).

The non-conference season will wind down against Albany at home on March 23.

UMass opens Atlantic 10 play on April 1 at Saint Joseph's before returning on April 3 to host Duquesne. UMass will face a tough end to the A-10 schedule with a three-game road trip at Richmond (April 22), at VCU (April 24) and at Davidson (April 30).

The Atlantic 10 Championships will be hosted on May 5-8 at Duquesne's Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.
